Sasha Berleman was one of the first people to get certified as a California Burn Boss, and in her work at Fire Forward (Audubon Canyon) helped spread the Rx fire gospel and practice in Sonoma County and beyond. She is now Appalachians Fire Director for the Nature Conservancy. Read the story of how she got into prescribed fire.

PPI alongside the whole coastal community are very fortunate to have had incredible support and input from Chief Marshall Turbeville of CalFire, who encouraged us in developing Rx fire practices at PPI. Marshall has worked tirelessly to promote community resilience in Sonoma County, and has given generously of his time to this more remote local community, an area that was often overlooked by planners.
